EMDR

What EMDR can help with

Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) is a technique used to help individuals heal from trauma, by processing memories through specific eye movements. It’s especially effective for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) but can also treat anxiety, depression, and phobias. The core principle is that trauma can become “stuck” in the brain, and EMDR helps integrate these experiences in a healthier way, reducing distress. It’s the recommended PTSD treatment within the NHS and can also address phobias by processing the linked traumatic memories.
