Integrative counselling

Integrative counselling draws on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you.

An integrative counsellor believes there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Instead, they take into account you as an individual and your circumstances and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.

Transactional analysis

Transactional analysis is a talking therapy designed to promote personal growth and change, helping individuals to reach their full potential in all aspects of life.  Its comprehensive approach incorporates aspects of humanistic, cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic therapy. It looks at how your beliefs, and the way you interpret the world around you, can create recurrent and problematic patterns in life.

What I can help with:

Mental health: Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, panic disorders, and other mood issues, by exploring the underlying issues, gaining insight into the root causes and working towards resolving them.

Relationships: Difficulty forming relationships, family issues, workplace issues, social anxiety. Helping you to understand the dynamics of your relationships, identify patterns that are not working and explore options for change.

Personal growth: Achieving personal growth and greater autonomy. TA therapists believe that we all have the potential to live the life we want rather than the life we are programmed to live. Sometimes, this potential is hindered by unconscious repetitive patterns. I will encourage you to challenge current beliefs that limit potential and consider options for change.

Self-awareness: Gaining better self-awareness and identifying unhealthy patterns. Facilitating clients to understand their internal processes and to understand how their beliefs have developed. Using present-day adult thinking to reality test and challenge out-of-date decisions and provide support to make new ones.

Communication: Communication issues and improving communication skills. TA helps people find more effective ways to communicate and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions.
